BingX App Scam : How an Impersonator of BingX Scammed a Victim in FloridaBingX App Scam : How an Impersonator of BingX Scammed a Victim in Florida

A Florida cryptocurrency investor says she nearly lost a substantial amount of money after being contacted by someone who falsely presented themselves as a representative associated with BingX.

The contact initially appeared professional. The individual used BingX branding, cryptocurrency terminology, and convincing explanations about account management and withdrawals. Because the communication appeared to come from someone familiar with the platform, the victim believed she was dealing with legitimate customer support.

The situation changed when she attempted to withdraw her cryptocurrency. Instead of receiving her funds, she was told that her account required additional verification. She was subsequently asked to transfer cryptocurrency to another wallet to complete the supposed verification process.

Each time the victim questioned the delay, the impersonator provided another explanation and another requirement. The repeated requests created pressure and made the victim increasingly concerned that refusing to comply could result in the loss of her account balance.

Eventually, she realized that the person she had been communicating with might not have been affiliated with BingX at all.

“I Thought I Was Investing in Te Real BingX App”

“Everything looked convincing. They knew how to talk about cryptocurrency, used the company’s name and appeared to understand my account. I genuinely believed I was using the real BingX.

“It was only when they kept asking me to send more cryptocurrency that I became suspicious. I stopped making payments and sought independent assistance to examine the transactions.

I sought assistance from 57 Investigations Ltd, where I was told that blockchain forensics could be used to examine the transactions. The investigators reviewed the wallet addresses and transaction records and traced the movement of the cryptocurrency across the blockchain.

“That analysis helped establish a clearer picture of where the funds had moved and provided actionable intelligence that was used in resolving the matter.”

Investigators examining suspected cryptocurrency fraud may use blockchain forensics to analyze wallet addresses, transaction hashes and the movement of digital assets. Such analysis can help establish where cryptocurrency was transferred and identify potentially relevant transaction patterns.

The incident serves as a reminder that scammers can impersonate cryptocurrency exchanges, customer-service representatives and other trusted organizations. Investors should independently verify support contacts through the company’s official channels and should be extremely cautious when anyone requests cryptocurrency payments to unlock, verify, or release funds.

A legitimate-looking conversation is not proof that the person on the other side is legitimate.
